Beverly Hills Weight Loss & Wellness Proclaims the
National Breast Cancer Foundation as its year-round Charity.
Beverly Hills Weight Loss & Wellness is pleased to announce
that it has become a corporate sponsor of the National Breast Cancer
Foundation. President Mike D’Apolito stated, “Our clients
have told us that they are deeply concerned about breast cancer,
a disease that affects many families, and of course, primarily
women. A majority of our clients are female, so we wanted to do
anything we could to help. After a great deal of research, we believe
NBCF is the best foundation that met our criteria of providing
services and educating the public about breast cancer. The highly
respected Charity Navigator Research Group has rated them as a
4-star charity two years in a row, which justified our faith in
NBCF. We plan to work very closely with them to provide free educational
materials to our clients and donate money to help them offer research
grants, mammograms, and other support in the fight against breast
cancer.”
The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s
mission is to save lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer
through education and by providing mammograms for those in need.
The founder and president of the National Breast Cancer Foundation
is Janelle Hail. She is a breast cancer survivor of twenty-five
years and relates to women with compassion, understanding, and
inspiration as she conducts public educational programs across
the nation.
NBCF has received the 4-star rating two
years in a row from Charity Navigator, which is the largest and
most respected charity evaluator in America. “Less than 12 percent of the charities we’ve
rated received 4 stars two years in a row,” stated Trent
Stamp, Executive Director of Charity Navigator. One reason NBCF
is recognized as a great charity is their devotion to supporting
quality medical research. NBCF recently awarded the Mayo Clinic
a grant for breast cancer research.

Donates Children’s Vitamins to
Boys and Girls Club of America
Beverly Hills Weight Loss and Wellness
is actively supporting Boys and Girls Clubs in Florida with plans
to expand nationwide. Recently, Beverly Hills donated over 200
bottles of children’s
vitamins to locations in South Florida.
As part of a continuing effort to educate the public about wellness,
nutrition, and healthy weight loss, Beverly Hills designed a special
nutritional education program for the Boys and Girls Club that
is interactive, fun, and informative. Corporate Dietician, Donna
Dodge, organized and developed the program that will be presented
to children in various Boys and Girls Club locations.
Boys and Girls Club is a non-profit organization
that serves almost 5 million children in all 50 states at approximately
4000 locations. The Chronicle of Philanthropy ranked Boys & Girls Clubs number
one among youth organizations for the 12th consecutive year, and
number 16 among all non-profit organizations. Charity Navigator
placed Boys & Girls Clubs on their "10 of the Best Charities
Everyone's Heard Of" list. Boys & Girls Club was also
the recipient of the 2004 Golden Halo award from the Cause Marketing
Forum for overall excellence in cause-related marketing.
Obesity among children is now being recognized
as an epidemic by experts in the medical community. Mike D’Apolito, President
of Beverly Hills, stated, “As a father of three children
I am deeply concerned about the health of America’s youth.
Beverly Hills is proud to be a supporter of the Boys and Girls
Clubs and we will continue to expand the nutritional program we
have developed exclusively for them to help educate children about
the importance of wellness and good health.”

Donates Children’s Vitamins To
Farmworkers Children through Coca-Cola Program
Recently, in a continual effort to support
total health for families, Beverly Hills Weight Loss & Wellness, donated children’s
vitamins to the Agricultural and Labor Program (ALPI), headquartered
in Winter Haven, Florida. Beverly Hills President, Mike D’Apolito
stated, “It’s always very rewarding to help disadvantaged
families, particularly children, who often are not able to afford
healthy and nutritious meals. The children’s vitamins will
provide them with all the nutrition they need to meet the national
standards for good health and proper nutrition.
The Agricultural and Labor Program is a direct descendent of The
Agricultural and Labor Project, established in 1968 by the Coca-Cola
Company to improve the quality of life for farmworkers in Florida
citrus operations. Today, ALPI serves the total spectrum of socially
and economically disadvantaged children and families throughout
Florida.
In the years since its inception, The Agricultural and Labor Program,
Inc. has continued to grow and to expand efforts to assist those
persons that the organization was chartered to serve. This effort
is continuous and will exist as long as there are persons needing
services. The five (5) underlying principles that guide ALPI activities
include involvement of people, emphasis on long term accomplishments
rather than promises, assurances of economic viability, emphasis
on self-help, and a sound, integrated, total systems approach.
